After a long wait and high anticipation,XXL finally announced the 2017 XXL Freshman Class.
After a long wait, XXL has finally announced the 2017 Freshman Class. Last year’s class was a very unique one, possibly the most unique so far. Many argue that it was one of the best classes and many argue that it was one of the worst. We can’t wait to see the cypher and freestyles this year.

This year’s freshman class includes: Kamaiyah, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, PNB Rock, XXXTentacion, Playboi Carti, Madeintyo, Aminé, Ugly God, Kap G, and Kyle. All of these artists have been doing phenomenal in their music careers over the past year. XXXTentacion was awarded the 10th spot by fan voting. This is also the 10th annual Freshman Class as XXL started doing this in 2007.

It will be interesting to see these artists work together in the upcoming Freshman Cypher which XXL does every year. You can watch last year’s cypher here. Whether you liked the 2016 Freshman Class or not, they definitely attracted a large audience with 45 million plus views on YouTube. It will be interesting to see how well the cypher does this year.
