Ice Cube will launch a new league for retired NBA players.

Old time emcee now actor Ice Cube wants to launch a new 3 on 3 league for retired NBA players. The league will be called BIG3, and will feature eight teams of five players (two players will sub).

“I thought of this concept as a fan who got sick of seeing his heroes retire and not play anymore,” Ice Cube told The Vertical. “A lot of these guys can still play once they retire – just not the back-to-backs or four games in five nights.”

Roger Mason Jr. who played 10 years in the NBA will serve as Cube’s Deputy Executive Director of the NBA Players Association. Cube will be in charge of the planning and development of the league.

The league will have team names, coaches, and be televised on national tv. Stay tuned for more details on the league.
