Outkast is an American hip hop duo formed in 1992, in East Point, Atlanta, Georgia, composed of Atlanta-based rappers André "André 3000" Benjamin (formerly known as Dré) and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton.[1] A critically acclaimed and commercially successful hip hop group, the duo helped popularize the Dirty South style of hip hop in the 90s while incorporating the influence of wider styles such as funk, soul, psychedelia, techno, gospeland jazz.[1][2][3]
