Trippie Redd reveals why he didn’t do a Freshman Cypher.

Many new artists nowadays are always checking out what’s new with the XXL Freshman Class, and many strive to one day be on the cover. Being included on the annual edition serves a big cosign, especially with all the perks.

Each artist is entitled an interview, freestyle, cypher, and listing on the cover when they become a freshman. The cypher entails a longer freestyle with accommodated by a trap beat, this year it happened to be from Sonny Digital.

Canton’s Trippie Redd claimed a spot on the list this year, but he decided against doing a cypher. The alternative rock/screamo/R&B singer isn’t too fond of trap beats, and that’s partly the reason he didn’t want to participate in a cypher, stating he knew the beat was going to be trash. He also details that the freestyle was enough for him, as it really displayed what he’s capable of. Listen in on the IG story from Trippie Redd below.
