Stream “Chance The Dropout,” a mashup a mixtape of Chance The Rapper vocals over Kanye West beats.
There has been no doubt Kanye West was Chance The Rapper’s biggest influence since he first picked up the mic. Kanye’s College Dropout, was the first album Chance had ever bought, and was the gateway to him becoming a rapper.
Today an expected surprise, DJ Critical Hype & DJ Clyde has mixed a full mixtape of Chance vocals over Kanye beats titled Chance The Dropout.
“I love Chance as an artist and Kanye is one of the best producers of all time,” Critical Hype tells in an interview. “They are both from Chicago and Chance is always talking about how big of an influence Kanye was and is. It seemed like a match made in heaven and a great way to bridge the gap of a new and older Chicago artist.” He adds, “When I started to play around with the idea it sounded even better than I had thought.”
The mixtape is laced with a full 23 tracks and also has features from Childish Gambino, Saba, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, & G Herbo. The mixtape has been in the works for a year and a half. “We wanted to have a range of Kanye beats and Chance vocals from newer to older,” Critical Hype explains. “We also wanted some the best beats and verses but also limited to the instrumentals and acapellas I was able to get my hands on.”
To go along with the masterpiece is the custom artwork done from Ian Klarer better know for his Run The Jewels artwork. Make sure to stream the whole project above.
