This weeks MAKING THE SCENE features a young emcee straight outta Cali, Nef The Pharaoh. Nef’s extremely talented bars. loud bass and style are starting to attract the media as he makes his way towards the rap scene.
Nef started out gaining a media when he won “Bay Area Freshman of the Year” in his hometown Vellejo, California. Early 2015 Nef’s hit single “Big Tymin” became a regional hit. Shortly after he dropped the music video, Sick Wid Records signed the young rapper. Other rappers like YG and Ty Dolla $ign, digged Nef’s style and remixed the single expanding Nef’s popularity.
Nef then dropped “Bitch I’m From Vallejo,” a dark yet soulful song. Nef blends Louisiana rap with a local bay style much of like rapper E-40, who has inspired Nef to pursue rapping. Nef’s young energy brings a whole new level to rap for this emcee.
Nef came out with his only large project on November 6th a self tittled “Nef The Pharaoh EP.” backed by his new label Sick Wid Records the Bay emcee delivers 7 tracks that bring him to fame including “Big Tymin’ (feat. E-40 & YG).” 2 months after that Nef released “Neffy Got Wings” a full LP mixtape containing 10 tracks produced by Cardo, with features from Ty Dolla $ign, Eric Bellinger, and Philthy Rich.
He has performed on live radio shows like KMEL-FM and Power 106 and continues to work on new projects like his next debut album titled “My Great Impression” which he plans to release under his own imprint KLFMB.
